National Recognition for Equine Industry Leaders

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA) has officially announced the finalists for its prestigious national awards. These honors will be bestowed during the 41st Annual TOBA National Awards Dinner, an event scheduled for September 10th at the Kentucky Castle in Versailles, Ky. These accolades serve to commend exceptional accomplishments in the sphere of thoroughbred breeding, competitive racing, and horse ownership, with the victors in the four main categories to be revealed live during the ceremony.

Following the national awards dinner, a state breeders luncheon is slated for September 11th at Coolmore's Ashford Stud. This event will recognize breeders from twenty states as well as Canada, with the state and Canadian breeders of the year having already been announced. Among the distinguished nominees, finalists for the Small Breeder of the Year include Brightview Farm & Gregory Kilka, Mallory & Karen Mort, and Susie Atkins. For the esteemed Breeder of the Year title, the finalists are the late Brereton C. Jones, Coteau Grove Farms, Don Alberto Corporation, Godolphin, and Juddmonte. The Owner of the Year category sees D.J. Stable, Godolphin, Juddmonte, Klaravich Stables, and Spendthrift Farm vying for the honor. Lastly, the Cot Campbell Partnership of the Year finalists comprise C2 Racing Stable, Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Medallion Racing, Michael Pegram, Karl Watson & Paul Weitman, and SF Racing.

Dan Metzger, the president of TOBA, emphasized that the nominated individuals and partnerships epitomize the pinnacle of achievement across all facets of the thoroughbred industry. He expressed anticipation for commemorating their successes and acknowledging the remarkable entities that persistently bolster the sport. The evening's festivities will commence with guest check-in, followed by a cocktail reception, and culminate with dinner and the awards presentation.
