Trainer Bob Baffert, who also guided Game On Dude to his Goodwood wins, will rely on new jockey Juan Hernandez to pilot Nevada Beach, a horse with a commendable record of 4 wins and 2 second-place finishes from 8 starts, accumulating $466,500 in earnings. His competitors include Forged Steel, a four-year-old Vekoma colt trained by Saffie Joseph Jr., who returns to Santa Anita after a significant win in the Hollywood Gold Cup (G2) in May. Additionally, Original Sin, a four-year-old Curlin colt under Brendan Walsh's tutelage, will be a strong contender, having recently placed second in the Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar and secured a stakes win earlier this year at Churchill Downs.
