White Abarrio, a distinguished four-time Grade 1 champion, has recommenced his training activities, undertaking his inaugural workout since his recent performance in the Stephen Foster. This seasoned equine athlete is setting his sights on the Whitney (G1) race, aiming for another significant victory.
Elite Racehorses Commence Training Across the Nation
On a recent Monday, specifically July 20, 2026, the equestrian world witnessed a flurry of activity as numerous graded-stakes winners began or continued their rigorous training schedules across various locations. A significant highlight was the four-time Grade 1 winner, White Abarrio, a seven-year-old son of Race Day. He completed a four-furlong workout in an impressive 47.8 seconds at Saratoga, marking his first official training session since securing a fourth-place finish behind Magnitude in the Grade 1 Stephen Foster on June 27. The New York Racing Association (NYRA) media office has indicated that White Abarrio is being prepared for his next major appearance in the Whitney (G1) on August 8. Notably, White Abarrio had previously claimed victory in the Whitney in 2023, surpassing Cody's Wish, and secured a fourth-place position last year. This Monday's session was his 14th fastest among 121 works at that distance.
